PROJECTS & EVENTS

I am passionate about driving social impact through partnerships focused on CSR and ESG goals, working on initiatives that create lasting positive change. Check out some of the projects and events I’ve been involved in:

Workforce Development

Girls Who Code, a leader in closing the gender gap in tech, has reached over 500,000 students and built one of the largest pipelines of future women technologists.

In this role, I managed partnerships with 20 top Fortune 500 companies to co-create and execute workforce development programs for college-aged and early-career participants. I served as the primary point of contact for partners, overseeing onboarding, volunteer coordination, and project planning for initiatives like Work Prep, Technical Interview Prep, and Leadership Academy.

I designed scalable systems, toolkits, and communications that streamlined collaboration and reduced administrative lift across programs. My work helped ensure that GWC alumni were not only prepared for technical roles but had direct access to career opportunities through meaningful industry engagement.

21st-Century Skills in Action

As the organization that operates Wikipedia, the 8th most visited website globally, the Wikimedia Foundation recognizes the importance of equipping students with the skills to use and contribute to the platform, especially in evolving educational practices.

With the support of the Wikimedia Foundation, the Interamerica Development Bank and Wikimedia Argentina jointly launched a course titled "21st Century Skills in Action" to improve digital literacy and citizenship in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The course taught over 200 young people from 18 countries, covering topics such as digital citizenship, critical writing, using Wikipedia, identifying content gaps, and contributing to Wikimedia projects. As a result of the program, the participants were able to update and improve 189 articles on a range of subjects.

Closing the Gender Gap on Wikipedia

Only 18.5% of the content in all Wikimedia projects, including biographies on Wikipedia, represents women. As of 2020, only 15% of Wikimedia contributors are women.

I collaborated with the communications department to relaunch our gender initiative, Project Rewrite. Together, we created a narrative that highlighted the gender gap on Wikipedia, and showcased our community members' efforts to close it. I also worked with organizations such as the Smithsonian Museum, CARE International, and World Pulse to develop collaborations aimed at educating more people about the gender gap.

Our ultimate goal was to encourage more people to work towards including more women's biographies on Wikipedia.

Reading Wikipedia in the Classroom

Our flagship teacher training program helps educators and students develop vital media and information literacy skills for the 21st century.

I worked with our Education Director to review and approve grant applications for the "Reading Wikipedia in the Classroom" program. Together, we developed strategies, criteria, and a framework for evaluating grant proposals.

In the end, we funded 47 community members from 50 different countries who aimed to implement the program in local contexts and provide high-quality learning experiences for secondary school teachers on how to use Wikipedia as a pedagogical tool.

Empowering Young Knowledge Producers

Working across different regions to promote knowledge equality and to close the knowledge gap on Wikipedia.

I worked closely with the Moleskine Foundation to host the first AfroCuration event in Mozambique. The event aimed to empower participants, who were primarily consumers of knowledge, to become knowledge creators and contributors. It also marked the creation of articles in the Emakhuwa language, which were previously not represented on Wikipedia.

The Moleskine Foundation plans to continue organizing AfroCuration events in different African countries to increase content production and empower young knowledge producers.

Women Deliver Conference

Women Deliver hosted the world's largest conference on gender equality and the health, rights, and well-being of girls and women.

During WD2019, 8,008 individuals from across the world gathered in Vancouver, Canada — with more than 200,000 others joining remotely — world leaders and youth leaders, frontline changemakers and social entrepreneurs, activists, advocates, and academics came together to drive progress on gender equality through the lens of power.

G7 Liaison

Stakeholder Engagement

I facilitated plans and engagements for the CEO surrounding the G7 Gender Equality Advisory Council meetings led by world leaders. I leveraged strong relationships with high-level officials to ensure that everything ran smoothly and efficiently.

Malala's 21'st Birthday

Planning and Logistics

I coordinated the planning and logistics for Nobel prize-winning activist Malala Yousafzai's 21st birthday event. The event included actors, humanitarians, influencers, and journalists, and involved meetings with non-profits that promote women's expression and education.
